Lonestar & Fireworks

M. BRIANNA STALLINGS Celebrate 240 years of the U.S.A. at Freedom 4th, featuring country superstar band Lonestar and the biggest fireworks display in New Mexico. Freedom 4th runs from 3 to 10 p.m. on Monday, July 4, at Balloon Fiesta Park (5000 Balloon Fiesta Pkwy NE), and it’s free to attend. Lonestar takes the stage at 7:45 p.m., with spangly fireworks going off at 9:15 p.m. Other bands include Impresion at 3 p.m., Kyle Martin at 4:30 p.m. and Cowboys & Indian at 6 p.m. Score food from more than 30 vendors, and find local beers on tap in the Microbrew Garden. Freedom 4th also boasts a car show and children’s activities. For a fee, the VIP experience includes a front-row view of the main stage, a catered meal from Taste of the Wild and premium parking with Firecracker Cafe. Those tickets are $50 for adults, $25 for children ages 4-12, and free for kids ages 3 and under. Doors open at 3 p.m., with dinner service from 5 to 8 p.m. Limited VIP tickets are available. Parking is available for $10 at Balloon Fiesta Park; enter from the southbound Frontage Road. Park and Ride Service is available from 3 to 8 p.m. at Coronado and Cottonwood Malls.
