Get Your OctoFair On

BY M. BRIANNA STALLINGS One steers its cephalopodic body across the ocean with eight tentacles. The other roams the forest on four furry legs, seeking food and shelter and avoiding Norwegian comedy troupes’ curiosity about what it says. These two very different beasts—the octopus and the fox—are the namesakes of an Albuquerque boutique that purveys local, handmade crafts and art. Visit The Octopus and the Fox (514 Central SE) for a free, family friendly afternoon of hyper-local shopping from over 35 vendors at the fifth annual Summer OctoFair on Saturday, June 18, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The soundtrack comes courtesy of Sage Harrington (12:30 p.m.) and Stephy and Carlos (2 p.m.). Raffle sponsors include Self Serve, Java Joe’s, Being Present, The Guild Cinema and Bhava Yoga. Local truck Soo Bak Foods will be on hand with scrumptious Korean “Seoul” food.
