Fiestas de Albuquerque

Historic Old Town, Rio Grande & Central NW

At 310 years young, Albuquerque is still looking mighty fine. On Saturday, April 16, venture into the heart of
Old Town to celebrate our burg’s history and traditions with free family fun at
Fiestas de Albuquerque.
For children and young-at-heart residents, face painters wait on standby to adorn beaming visages with festive designs . . . at no charge. Adventurous inhabitants can turn their divided attention to a rock-climbing wall or local artist demos, including retablo making. Competing for your concentration are the likes of the Sun and Fire Dance Group, Baila! Baila!, Casa Flamenca, Cuicani Sin Fronteras, Grupo Kontratiempo, Mariachi Tenampa and other performers. Groove to an authentic nuevomexicano soundtrack while dining on food truck fare by All Smoked Out BBQ and Firenze Pizzeria. You do have to pay for the slices and ribs; we are, after all, still on Earth.
