Police Memorial Set for May 3

BY DAN KLEIN

The Albuquerque/Bernalillo County Metro Law Enforcement community will hold their annual police memorial at noon, May 3, on Albuquerque's Civic Plaza.

In 2015, the Albuquerque Police Department and the Rio Rancho Police Department lost two officers to line of duty deaths. APD also had two other officers gravely injured.

This memorial was started in 1963 by President John F. Kennedy to honor all officers who have lost their lives or who became disabled in the line of duty. This event lasts for one hour and is open to the public.

Dan Klein is a retired Albuquerque police sergeant. Reach him via Facebook.
