Get Your Earth Day On

BY RENE THOMPSON Earth Day at the BioPark: Apr. 22-23 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Face painting, animal feeding and touch pools, as well as conservation education are all scheduled for Earth Day celebrations at the Biopark Zoo. For more info, visit cabq.gov/culturalservices/biopark/events/earth-day-celebration La Montanita Co-op's 26th Annual Earth Fest Celebration: The Santa Fe store (913 West Alameda Street)  is throwing a BBQ on Friday, Apr. 22 from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be live music, vendors, BBQ and veggie burgers, an art show, a button-making demo with Earth Day themes and Earth-friendly product giveaways. The Nob Hill Store (3500 Central Ave. SE) celebrates on Sunday, Apr. 24, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The street will be blocked off at Silver and Carlisle to accommodate vendors and live music. There's limited parking, so consider biking or walking to the event. Music and dancers will entertain from start to finish, and vendors offer everything from art to seeds and plants for home gardening, as well as food and prizes.
